Adams to present at SACNAS 2015 Conference

Dr. Lori Adams, a Master Facilitator for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) National Research Mentoring Network (NRMN), will be presenting a workshop titled, “Tips to Becoming an Effective Research Mentor Across Career Stages,” with three other NRMN Master Facilitators at the 2015 SACNAS National Conference. This interactive session will offer participants a set of strategies to become better research mentors utilizing evidence-based materials with their research mentees across various career stages.

The SACNAS National Conference, held this year in Washington, D.C., from October 29 – 31, 2015, is the annual meeting of the Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS). The conference’s goal is to inspire, engage, and train individuals to achieve their highest goals in pursuing an education and career in the STEM fields.

Dr. Adams is Program Director of the Iowa Biosciences Academy (IBA) and Latham Science Engagement Initiative as well as a Lecturer in the University of Iowa Department of Biology.
