IBA Student Selected for Phi Beta Kappa Writing Internship

Nicholas McCarty, IBA student and Latham Science Engagement Fellow, has been selected for a 2016 Phi Beta Kappa Writing Internship. The Phi Beta Kappa chapter at the University of Iowa recommended McCarty to work with the Society’s national office in Washington, DC. The internship begins in January and continues through May 2016.

Originally from Geneva, Illinois, McCarty is majoring in Biochemistry with minors in Clinical and Translational Science, Chemistry, and Entrepreneurial Management. He has conducted research on diabetes and heart disease for the last three years with Professor E. Dale Abel, MD, PhD.
